One Band a Day
One Band a Day thumbnail
One Band a Day It’s like being in a glass time machine, and see the years go by like mere seconds, while the world auto-destructs, and you just can’t leave. You scream, and the sound just bounces back at you in your glass cage. You can’t do anything, you can’t intervene. You can only observe, powerless.
Final verdict: Excellent black metal drone electronic experimental metal ambient dark ambient noise. Nice… riff ?
Rating: 11/10, would be powerless again Favorite track: Arc of Extinction.
Majbritt Levinsen

Majbritt Levinsen A new lighter/friendlier Locrian. I simply loved The Clearing/ The Final Epoch for it's hauntingly claustrophobic unease, but this is feather-light and a masterpiece of its own. Best of 2015 worthy!

(Best album of the year 2015!!!) Favorite track: The Great Dying.

Favorite track: Dark Shales.

brantly A bit more structured than previous releases, but Locrian's dark take on crushing, blackened drone is always awe-inspiring.

Jon A magnificent experience. Infinite Dissolution is perhaps their most beautiful work. Inspiring & devastating in equal measure. An album as attuned to sorrow & loss as it is to beauty & renewal. While Crystal World is my favorite, in large part for its connection to my mother's passing, Infinite Dissolution is a personal echo of my mom's own eco-activism, her tragic death as a downwinder, and our uncertain future. Locrian has helped me through so much the past few years. I'm grateful to them. Favorite track: An Index of Air.

Experimental, avant-black metal artisans LOCRIAN return with Infinite Dissolution, another dark and cinematic work of exceptional aural artistry. More epic and foreboding than anything in the prolific trio's catalog, Infinite Dissolution was produced by Greg Norman (Pelican, Russian Circles) and is a multi-part concept album dealing with the struggle of extinction. A seamless and harrowing blend of dark ambience, drone, black metal, post-rock, and experimental electronics, Infinite Dissolution is the perfect manifestation of modern, forward-thinking experimental music.
